Margarita con mezcal (mezcalita)

Margarita with mezcal ("Mezcalita")


  • 2 oz (60 ml) Ramo de Rosas Espadín Capón mezcal
  • 1 oz (30 ml) orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or triple sec)
  • 3/4 oz (22.5 ml) agave syrup
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • Salt (to frost the rim of the glass)
  • Ice
  • Lemon slice (to decorate)


  1. Moisten the rim of a glass with a lemon wedge and sprinkle with salt. You can do this by dipping the rim of the glass in salt on a plate.

  2. In a shaker, add ice.

  3. Pour the mezcal, orange liqueur, agave syrup and lemon juice into the shaker.

  4. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to cool and mix the ingredients well.

  5. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass with ice.

  6. Garnish with a lemon wedge on the rim of the glass.
