Mezcal mojito

The mezcal mojito is a modern version of the classic Cuban cocktail that is typically made with rum. The addition of mezcal adds a unique depth of flavor to the drink, making it a popular choice among cocktail enthusiasts.

Ingredients
  • 16 mint or peppermint leaves (and a mortar)
  • 1 oz lemon juice.
  • 1 spoon of sugar.
  • Ice, sufficient quantity.
  • 2 oz. of Ramo de Rosas mezcal (espadín joven)
  • ½ oz. of natural syrup.
  • Sparkling water, sufficient quantity.
  • 1 lemon twist.

Preparation

Place half of the mint or peppermint leaves, lemon juice and sugar in the old fashioned glass, crush them lightly with the mortar.

Add ice, mezcal, natural syrup and the remaining mint leaves; mix very well with the bar spoon, top up with the sparkling water.

Garnish with the lemon twist.
